Materials
The needed materials for this project are the following: 2 shoe boxes, one for the top part and one for a funneling system at the bottom for the ball and sensor attachment, 4 large sticks, to serve as rods to where the players will be attached, 4 small barbecue sticks to serve as handles for the rods, 1 white marble to serve as a ball, white bond paper to cover up and make the product clean, Used illustration board, cardboard or folders for designs, constructs and others, Glue gun to stick everything together, Cutter and scissors to cut and 12 Laundry clips to serve as our players.
Inspiration
What inspired us is how we wanted to relate our exit product to a popular sport which is soccer. Since there are already existing examples of table soccer, we just had to find ways that the materials can be from recycled materials to make a do-it-yourself table football with the incorporation of robotics.
Reflection
While making our product, we felt various emotions because of how difficult and at the same time easy it is to execute our plan for the Exit Product, we were very happy because we had fun making the funneling system and it was fun to see the ball end up in the chamber where it’s supposed to be. It also feels irritating and sometimes disappointing especially when something just doesn’t go as we want it to, just like working with the sensor, sometimes it detects something when there is nothing around or vice versa. The Overall experience was fun and somewhat stressing because sometimes the parts just refuse to stick together and sometimes some parts break. After making our product, I have realized that we must be patient when making something because great things take time.
About the Makers
We wanted to combine having a sustainable development for our product by using only recycled materials and having our interest in games and sports by being football fans, thus creating a soccer-themed table football.
